Next week our CEO Giacomo Dachille will participate at the 10° SolarPlaza Summit Italy, speaking at the panel on the topic «Optimizing the Technical Performance of Your PV & BESS Projects”.
During the conference, Giacomo will address the needs of asset owners seeking to revamp or repower older power plants, particularly those with PV assets installed in 2009-2010. He will emphasize our expertise in executing over 400 MW of successful revamping and repowering projects and share insights from a significant initiative involving a portfolio of 36 plants that will increase capacity from 50 to 67 MW. This project will feature improved connection costs and streamlined authorization processes, with an aim to achieve a performance ratio (PR) of nearly 90%.
Giacomo will also discuss the critical importance of cost optimization, explaining how owners can reduce expenses by 20-30% when they purchase components directly with the support of a technical advisor. He will provide examples of enhanced PR, including a notable 35% increase in a 10 MW plant after revamping, which has maintained stable PR rates of 87% over three years, even without bifacial panels.
Repowering will be presented as a strategic solution to enhance capacity without expanding land use. However, Giacomo will note that the timeline for connections can influence the decision-making process between revamping and repowering. Some producers may choose to proceed with immediate revamping while laying the groundwork for future repowering efforts.
